同位素热年代学与稀有气体实验室(热年代学与稀有气体同位素平台)主要开展Ar-Ar同位素测年、(U-Th)/He测年及稀有气体同位素分析实验,并主要依托这些实验测试技术开展地质应用研究,目前是中国地质调查局系统(及自然资源部系统)实验设备、技术方法最为齐全的中-低温同位素热年代学实验室。“同位素热年代学与稀有气体实验室”是自然资源部同位素地质重点实验室主要组成部分,对国内外研究人员全面开放。
同位素热年代学与稀有气体实验室是我国最早开展Ar同位素体系测年的实验室之一,也是国内较早关注同位素热年代学研究及最早开始筹建(U-Th)/He等中-低温热年代学分析测试实验室的单位,其历史可以追索到上世纪五十年代。在此后的几十年中,同位素热年代学实验室经历了持续进步的发展历程:六十年代建立K-Ar体积法定年实验室;七十年代建立K-Ar稀释法定年实验室;八十年代建成分步加热Ar-Ar法定年实验室;九十年代中期率先在国内开展激光Ar-Ar定年技术研究并建立了激光微区原位Ar-Ar法测年实验室;二零一零年代,在我国最先开发成功(U-Th)/He同位素定年法。本世纪初,实验室率先在国内开展(U-Th)/He同位素定年实验室建设的可行性研究,并于2007年获得批准立项,于2009年底开发成功了磷灰石(U-Th)/He同位素定年实验流程。2013年后,又在引进氦同位素质谱仪基础上,建立了我国第一个锆石(U-Th)/He同位素定年实验室,并开发出创新性榍石(U-Th)/He测年实验流程;二零二零年代,建立稀有气体同位素分析实验室。在应用研究方面,几十年来,本实验室科研人员在构造年代学、矿床年代学、地层年代学、变质岩年代学、山脉隆升与剥蚀、矿床剥露与保存、地貌演化、盆地埋藏与抬升历史恢复等领域取得了一系列重要研究成果。
实验仪器
热年代学与稀有气体同位素平台现有仪器设备包括6台大型质谱仪:Helix MC稀有气体质谱仪、Helix MC Plus稀有气体质谱仪(2台)、MM1200B稀有气体质谱仪、Alphachron TM 氦同位素质谱仪、Agilent 7900电感耦合等离子体质谱仪;以及3套激光剥蚀系统:MIR10型 CO2连续激光器、193nm准分子激光剥蚀系统一套、RESOlution-SE激光剥蚀系统。
另外,在国家自然科学基金委重大科研仪器研制项目资助下,实验室正在自行研制飞秒激光显微探针稀有气体同位素微区原位分析系统。
